Fulham win brilliantly, Everton crush rivals to reach FA Cup.

Fulham and Everton beat their rivals to reach the next round of the FA Cup. The 2024/25 FA Cup has entered the third round, with Premier League teams taking to the field. On Thursday, two teams from the English top flight played.

Fulham started with a 4-1 home win over Watford, with the first half drawing 1-1. The home team took the lead through Rodrigo Muniz, but Watford got Rocco Vata to help them hit back.

However, the young tycoon scored three goals in the second half, starting with Raul Jimenez’s penalty in the 49th minute, followed by Joachim Andersen in the 65th minute, and finally Timothy Castagne’s goal in the 85th minute.

The Mexico striker converted two penalties in a 2-2 draw with Ipswich on Sunday and it was his goal that put Fulham 2-1 up against second-division Watford. It was his fifth successful penalty this season and his fourth goal in three games.

Jimenez put Fulham back in front four minutes after the break and goals from Joachim Anderson and Timothy Castagne completed the win. 

Everton made the surprise announcement that Sean Dyche had been fired just hours before hosting Peterborough. With under-18s coach Leighton Baines and club captain Seamus Coleman put in temporary charge.

It had an immediate effect with goals from Beto and Iliman Ndiaye securing the relegation-threatened club’s place in the next round.

Another pair playing at the same time, Everton opened Goodison Park to beat Peterborough 2-0, with the Toffees scoring the opening goal through Beto late in the first half.

The home fans had to wait until the 7th minute of stoppage time to feel relieved. When Eliman N’Diaiya converted a penalty to give Everton a 2-0 win. 

Both teams will now enter the round of 32, which will be drawn soon.
